On the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Praga Museum of Warsaw together with the Warsaw Intangible Cultural Heritage Team (to which I have the honour to serve as a President), organized an international conference and workshop dedicated to urban intangible heritage.
During two days, conference participants managed to get acquainted with a number of interesting projects implemented not only in the cities where the invited guests came from, including Ghent, Verona, Antwerp, Bursa, Athens and Varkaus but also learn about activities undertaken on ICH in an urban context in Poland, especially Warsaw and Kraków. The workshop meetings, in turn, fuelled vibrant discussions about the challenges related to the inclusion of intangible heritage in the fields of education, museum strategies, municipal government activities, and when working with communities.
